The Center for Development and Continuing Education, in collaboration with the College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah, held an online lecture addressing the topic of pollution and its effects on human health, with participation from faculty members and students.

The lecture aimed to highlight the direct health impacts of pollution, ways to prevent related diseases, and the importance of conserving natural resources, achieving sustainability, and promoting environmental and economic awareness.

Presented by Lecturer Rana Hassan Abdul Majeed, the lecture introduced the concept of pollution, its types, and its negative effects on humans and living organisms, while offering solutions and proposals to mitigate the problem.

The lecture recommended enhancing tree-planting and cleaning campaigns, reducing plastic consumption, intensifying awareness initiatives in schools and universities, and integrating environmental education into curricula.
